Saw a stone pig in Toledo, Met a donkey at the State Fair...Still training for the Triathlon in 2 weeks...

The title pretty much explains what I've been up to besides working. In Toledo a week or so ago, I faced a near beating to hop out of the car and photograph this stone pig donning swim gear. People in Michigan and Indiana dress up these assinine stone geese in human-like clothing, people in Ohio choose pigs. This one comes complete with goggles and flippers.
I met a lovely donkey named Rose after my shift at the Indiana State Fair last week. Rose seems happy to be at the fair, and I, although happy to meet her, had just completed a seven-hour shift at one of our corporate booths AND it was nearly 100 degrees. Rose and I agreed that the newest State-Fair-Fried-Crap, "Deep Fried Pepsi" did not sound remotely appetizing and instead settled for a grilled cheese sandwich from the Dairy Barn instead.
Also, I continue my training for the ass-kicking that will take place on Saturday, August 25th at Eagle Creek Park - when a certain team named "The Double A's" will sprint to victory in the final 50 yards...provided Jennie doesn't pop out from behind a tree and club me in the knee with a tire iron.
In all seriousness, this training has been good for my body and my sanity as of late. I can now run nearly 4 miles without stopping and at 10-12 minutes a piece. My clothes fit better and my head is clearer. It's become my new "crack"...seeing how I don't work on 38th St. anymore. In fact, I can no longer afford crack and BenGay, so the muscle rub won out.
We should also all take a moment to cheer Jennie on as she is doing the entire thing alone...sans a sweet-ass (hairy) teammate like me. She is my true triathlon hero. Stay tuned for photos of me and my teammate Anu, pouring Gatorade over our heads as our gold medals are placed around our necks.
Finally, the first photo is of me and my co-worker Michelle. Michelle moved to Indy from Ohio and is the proud parent to a bassett hound named Henry. Michelle thinks my jokes are funny as I do hers...I think she fits into my "smart-ass friend circle" nicely...although, if I was ten years older...I could be her Mother.
